Hi All,

I have a couple CX300 Desktop Phones that are dead after the firmware update procedure was performed incorrectly. The firmware was being upgraded from 1.20.7.03 to 1.36.8.03 using the PolycomFirmwareDownloaderCX300.exe tool. Now, when connected to a Windows 7 or 8 computer, the driver is not installed correctly and the phones screen remains blank. Is there a method to factory reset the phone or to reboot it to default? Any suggestions welcome.

Hello wenchuan,

welcome back to the Polycom Community.

The original poster had received a special firmware updater which is not required in normal circumstances and is completely irrelevant to a VVX phone so therefore unrelated. They have been helped via our support team and the phone was recovered.

Could you kindly explain what you have done with your VVX as it is in my experience impossible to break a VVX phone.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards
