Hi,

Thanks for the info.  I've put 4.0.6 on the handset and I can now select a ring type for Attendant calls.  However, while I can select a ring tone, when a BLF line is ringing my handset still does not audibly ring?

Nick

Hello Nick,

I have removed this above post from this unrelated post => here <=

Are you setting up the BLF functionality as described here:

Nov 4, 2011 Question: How can I setup a Busy Lamp Field / BLF with an Digium Asterisk SIP Server?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

Is the phone line you are monitoring already on another call ?

Hi Steffen,

Thanks again for the quick response.

We're actually using a 3CX server but I did check the config file for my extension and the attendant entries look as described.  The BLFs work as I would expect.  I can see when the extensions are ringing (by the flashing LED), and I can take the call by pressing the BLF button etc.  The only thing it does not do is audibly ring despite having an attendant tone set on the handset.

Hello Nick,

I have tested this using a SPIP650 running UCS 4.0.6 and it will ring.

Depending on the BLF signaling the phone will not ring if the monitored extension is busy as explained => here <=

I suggest you work with the 3CX support team as they know me and can work with Polycom support if required.

Hi,

Thanks for the info.  I'm not seeing it ring under any circumstances so I suspect this is a 3cx/signalling issue.  I will raise a ticket with them and update this thread with any relevant information.

Thanks again for your time and help.

Hello Nick,

My BLF config:

attendant.resourceList.1.address="3092@10.252.122.122"
attendant.resourceList.1.label="3092"
attendant.ringType="ringer2"

The attendant ringer type was changed on the phone manually.

On hold with 3Cx support UK as we speak.

My config looks like this:

--

  <attendant
    attendant.uri=""
    attendant.reg=""
    attendant.ringType="1"
    attendant.behaviors.display.spontaneousCallAppearances.normal=""
    attendant.behaviors.display.spontaneousCallAppearances.automata=""
    attendant.behaviors.display.remoteCallerID.normal=""
    attendant.behaviors.display.remoteCallerID.automata=""
  />

<attendant attendant.resourceList.1.address="1109" attendant.resourceList.1.label="Support9 " attendant.resourceList.1.type="automata"/>

<attendant attendant.resourceList.2.address="1209" attendant.resourceList.2.label="BC Support9 " attendant.resourceList.2.type="automata"/>

<attendant attendant.resourceList.3.address="1007" attendant.resourceList.3.label="Kevin Fryer" attendant.resourceList.3.type="automata"/>

<attendant attendant.resourceList.4.address="1002" attendant.resourceList.4.label="Daryl Hornsby" attendant.resourceList.4.type="automata"/>

Hello NickUK,

apologize for the delay.

If you are using the attendant.resourceList.x.type as automata then the attendant.behaviors.display.spontaneousCallAppearances.automata automatically applies.

From the UCS Admin Guide:

If 1, the normal or automatic call appearance is spontaneously presented to the attendant when calls are alerting on a monitored resource (and a ring tone is played).

If 0, the call appearance is not spontaneously presented to the attendant. The information displayed after a press-and-hold of a resource's line key is unchanged by this parameter.

In your case it would be 0 and therefore no ring.
