Hello,

Background: 3CX VoIP server, Polycom SoundPoint 550, Vlans

Question: Is there a way to tell a Polycom SoundPoint to use a specific VLAN using the provisioning template that it picks up from the 3CX Server?

I can change the VLAN in the phone's web GUI, but we're trying to setup the network so if a phone is reset to factory defaults, it will still find it's home on the network...

Hello rghabel,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

The 3CX Provisioning is provided by 3CX and therefore you should enquire this Information from 3CX or their community Forum.

The VLAN can be provisioned via a Configuration File using the Device.Set Parameters.

I am sure that 3CX can help you there but below could be used as an example:

<device device.set="1" device.net.vlanId.set="1" device.net.vlanId="128" />

 Adding above to the Phone configuration on the 3CX Server would assign VLAN ID 128.

In addition your DHCP Server can already do this when providing a IP Address.

This is also covered in the Phones admin Guide, example UCS 3.3.0 (Assigning a VLAN ID Using DHCP)

Best Regards
