Hi,

when we integrate Centro and soundstructure C8, is it possible to use external speakers connected to SS instead of using the Centro build-in speakers?

The Centro does not have an external audio output so there would be no way to get the far end audio to the SoundStructure.

HP Recommended

Yes, you can use external speakers that are driven from the SS.   We have done this at some tradeshows to increase the volume of the far end.    Of course, you will need amplified speakers connected to the SS to make this work.

Good Luck,

Hello Gary,

how are you planning to connect the Centro without external connection to the SoundStructure?

We used the Clink2 Input port to the SS.

The Clink2 port that is located on the User I/O Panel between the 3.5mm Aux Audio Input and the Serial Din 8 port.

Hello Gary,

learn something new every day 😉

Not having a physical unit makes it difficult to confirm or deny this is possible as I could not find any documentation showing the connectivity 😉

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

thanks Gary,

what about about the build-in speaker of the centro, can we disable it so the audio will be coming out from the amplified speakers connected to SS only?

HP Recommended

We did not attempt to disable the Centro speakers, just reinforce the audio using the speaker system connected to the SoundStructure.    There are many references online to using slightly delayed side audio to enchance room audio without the audio sounding like it's coming from the "sky".

Good luck!
