Dear support team,

I have a question to the Polycom RealPresence Desktop product. Here is the problem:

A big customer from our company has set up a new Video Conference System at they're site which is reachable from the outside with an SIP Number like 1234@videoconf.company.de. We were told to use the Polycom RealPresence Desktop to connect to they're video conference system and make a video conference.

Can someone explain to me what we need to establish this connection to the Video Conference System? Do we need a SIP Provider like Sipgate or how does this work? I'm sorry but I am new to the SIP Environment...

Thank you in advance.

Hello Mwuerzbauer,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

Yes you should simply be able to download RPD and install it on a PC. The only pre-requisite is to ensure the local firewall allows the required ports to be open.

You will not need to register to a SIP or H.323 Server.

The ports are listed in the release notes => here <=
