We bought an X30 and a TC8 and are more than shocked at the solutions poly offers.
It is not possible to configure a productive solution that has a pleasant workflow.
There are errors in all options:
Teams Mode: It is not possible to accept team invitations from outside (even if the problem is with the native Teams app, it just doesn't work! No help from Poly here either!) We tried personal and meeting-room licence from o365.
RealConnect:
After we got a RealConnect test license after some difficulties and set it up, no meetings worked here either. For whatever reason. We don't have SIP internally and we just want to use teams, but that doesn't work.

Device mode:
For the TC8 you first have to mount a POE switch on the table because there is no power supply.
The laptop can only be operated on the USB-C port and the cables must both be connected to the X30 (bad if the connection is further away). Also the video quality is very poor here.
If you want to set up a fixed workstation, you have to pull out the HDMI cable again and again when you exit device mode in order to be able to reconnect, which is not acceptable.
Generally an absolutely immature technology. We also use other providers who are much more user-friendly.
It's a shame that we acquired the solution from poly and cannot use it now.

Hello @mawi812
Complaining here is not the way forward and most likely no action will be taken.
Our FAQ here explains some of the differences between the modes and their limitations:
As always we recommend to work with a Poly reseller to get educated on the differences as they are specialists in this field and trained to work and help End Customers.

----------------Regarding external invitations, this is an Exchange mailbox configuration issue There settings your admin can configure on the mailbox to make external invitations behave like internal ones, but by default they ignore external invitations.
Regarding POE, normally you would put the power injector or switch in the data room, not in the conference room, to keep it clean. It just needs to be in line between the data switch and the device, but no need for it to clutter up your conference room.
We already configured the mailbox to accept external invites.
Seems like an bug from teams native app, more users have the same issue.
Thanks.
Hello @mawi812 ,
Welcome back to the Poly Community.
So far, at least I am not aware you did, you have not even shared the currently used software version where you experience these issues.
We recently released Studio X software 3.2.0 which should contain a later Team APK from our partner Microsoft.
Any issues found with their app should be reported to them so they can work with you as the user to either rectify these or at least confirm this is working as they have designed this in their app.
Best Regards

----------------Hi Steffen,
thanks for your reply and the information about the new release updates.
I updated the system now but the update doesn´t fixed the issue ....
Best Regards.
Hello @mawi812 ,
did you already report this to our partner Microsoft as previously advised?
If yes do you have a reference?

----------------I already send the issue report to MS. No feedback ....
It's true that the native Teams version has a lot of shortcomings...
You can see the Microsoft roadmap here :
Like you I'm looking forward to the new features and bug fixes.
What bothers me the most is the Camera on OFF with the proximity version especially as there is no shortcut on the TC8 to activate it...great.
And for me important is this : Device UX optimized for use in a personal space scenario (e.g. home office), using personal credentials
Our TC8 we are piloting just stopped working. States that device needs to managed. Expensive junk IMO and you can never get support from Poly, they will just say it's MS's problem.
