RealPresence 500 outbound access via Firewall - can i open outbond ports only?

Hi there,

I would like to enable our RealPresens 500 to make outbound H323 video calls only.  No inbound allowed

Will allowing only outbound ports work?

Ports from the firewall FAQ

* TCP 1720 for the initial call setup

• TCP 49152 => 65535 for additional signalling
• UDP 16384 => 32764 for the media between the two endpoints

No, because you will receive packets on these ports also and if they are not open you won´t see and hear anything from the farsite. So you will have to open up Firewall In-and Outbound.

In addation you need to open ports TCP3230-3235 and UDP3230-3261, you also can see them in the Firewall-Settings in RPG´s GUI.
