Problem with proximity join - can't see device - X50 Teams Mode

Hi,

I made an account on Office 365 on Resources/Rooms & Equipment and add Microsoft Team Rooms Standard License to that user. After that, I start x50 in Teams mode and login on Teams with that account. It Teams admin page under Devices/Collaboration bars I see the device (X50). The problem is when I try proximity join with Teams all under the devices is empty I can't see the device/room. Do I need to do anything else to see a device with teams?

Tnx,

Dominik

Hi @dskaro,

so you grab your notebook with activated bluetooth, go into your meeting room and try to search your X50 with your installed Teams-client? Like it is shown in this video for example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eQamRrmlGd0&trk=organization-update-content_share-embed-video_share-...

Which software version is on the Studio X50?

Are you using a 64bit Teams client on your desktop?  Microsoft does not make this feature available unless you have the 64bit client installed on the PC you are trying to join from:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/hardware-requirements-for-the-teams-app

You should also verify that Proximity Join is enabled in the settings menu of the X50 device.

Does it work only with bluetooth?

Yes, the feature requires Bluetooth for discovery of the nearby devices. The Teams application leverages low energy beaconing to determine that you are within close proximity. That limits the number of devices populating the list when the feature is used.

Hello @Ferdex ,

Welcome to the Poly Community.

This blog post goes into more detail on proximity join and might be helpful.  *Note this feature is a Microsoft Teams feature and is not exclusive to Studio X.  The feature is currently limited because there are no in-meeting controls, but Microsoft has addressed this in their public roadmap
