I cannot get version 8.0.16 to uninstall from my Laptop. I am trying to uninstall this version and install 8.0.4. It starts the uninstall, opens the InstallShield Wizard, progress bar runs to about 1/2 way then it just disappears and does nothing after that at all. I am running Win7 64bit on this machine. Now I cannot install the new version nor uninstall the old one? Should I try to eliminate it manually by deleting program files and using regedit to clear registry entries?

Hello avguy49,

1.  Do you have administrator rights on the laptop you are installing/uninstalling PVX?

2.  Have you tried to power cycle your laptop and uninstalling prior to launching PVX (sometimes a background process can remain open after the application is closed, InstallSheild may not be able to complete if this occurs.)

3.  What issue are you having with 8.0.16 which prompted the downgrade to 8.0.4?

Ultimately - if the uninstall process is not working - if you are familiar with the Windows Registry and Application Data location, you can try removing the program manually.  This is not recommended, and could be potentially dangerous to your system's stability if you modify the wrong data.  Please proceed with caution!

Keep in mind that Windows 7 is not officially supported with the PVX application at any version.  It does work under most installations and circumstances, but it has not been fully tested yet by our engineers.

I managed to get it all worked out.

Thanks,

Philip
