We are experiencing problems with a customer dialing into a Codian MCU with an HDX 8000. They dial in over ISDN, the call is converted to IP by a Codian ISDN Gateway and then connected to the MCU. The problem is that every time the lay-out on the MCU changes the HDX no longer receives a video-image. The connection is still there, audio still works bi-directional and we can still see the HDX's video image on the MCU but the HDX no longer receives a video-image. Problem seems to be that there is a codec re-negotiation every time the image changes even though the connection is already forced to safe settings on the ISDN gateway so there is only one codec to 'negotiate' I realise there are many different components here, which could all be part of the problem but perhaps you've seen this before and hopefully know a solution. Kind regards, Remi van Essen

Sounds like you may be on the right track with the HDX having to renegotiate the caps exchange when the layout changes. We would need to know what version of software the HDX and Codian are running and a better understanding of the exact path and hardware.

We can examine the HDX logs for clues that may support the theory then research to see if there are any fixes or a work around.

Please check the HDX release notes for compatibility with Codian devices.
