POLYCOM VSX 3000 WAS WORKING THURSDAY 16 AND MOVED THE SYSTEM BACK TO ITS NORMAL LOCATION IN ANOTHER OFFICE THIS MORING FRIDAY 17..AFTER POWERING BACK UP THE FOLLOWING MESSAGE CAME UP ON THE MONITOR.

 

                                                             SYSTEM RECOVERY

YOUR SYSTEM FAILED TO START CORRECTLY PLEASE TROUBLESHOOT AND FIX THE PROBLEM IDENTIFIED BELOW

AND THEN CYCLE POWER TO REBOOT HE SYSTEM.(HAVE DONE THIS MANY TIMES)

 

PLEASE WAIT FOR THE SYSTEM UPDATE TO BEGIN

STATUS: HARDWARE DETECT EEPROM FAILURE

 

AFTER REBOOT ,SYSTEM WILL NOT GO PASS THIS SCREEN. DOES ANYONE HAVE A IDEA WHAT THIS MEANS, IAM NEW ON THIS SYSTEM.

If this is not a hardware failure the software nay have been corrupted. The below procedure 'may' be able to correct the corruption.

 

The system must be ERFL’ed using the remote control.

 To do so,

1. Hold down the 0 button on the remote control while booting the unit, to access the Boot UI screen.
2. Start the ERFL process by pressing the following button sequence on the remote control ## 33 77 55 Select Select or ### 333 777 555 Select Select Select. Keep alternating between the two sequences until ERFL starts. (Note The buttons must be pressed quickly, one after another.)
3. Restart the system after the ERFL process is complete. Otherwise, you will have trouble running Softupdate.
4. Run Softupdate.
5. if the DHCP is enabled in the network then it may take the IP settings otherwise will show 1.1.1.2 so you need to connect via cross cable assign your PC 1.1.1.1 to do the software loading in the system.
 
If this is not possible please call Polycom Support at 888-248-4143
