Needed help to config polycom using telnet!

Hello,

I was wondering if it's possible to check the box "Allow Video Display on Web" on any polycom trough a telnet session?

Because I work for a Large Multinational which is has locations around the whole world with +30 polycom hdx 6000 systems, so it's hardly impossible to set this checkbox  all by my self.. Without traveling around the whole world.

I would like to have (prefer) a command which I can put into telnet if possible.

Not unless you can simulate the remote control buttons (using 'button' commands) to take the unit thru the configuration screens and activate the option.  It has to be done locally with the remote. You could come up with a list of button presses to do it but they might change depending on what model/software version you're dealing with.

Did you ever find out what the solution was?  I can understand Polycom may be reluctant to broadcast this as their position has generally been, you can't change that option remotely for security & privacy reasons. Pete

Hi M Van Zeeland.

I'd really like to know how to turn Video over Web on without addressing the box with the IR remote (ie Telnet).  Even if I have to "keep it in the family" so to speak.

Please, I have the same problem you had to configure access to the video via WEB, can you help me with the configuration via telnet, or other solution? Thank you!
