We have a couple QDX6000's that need to be on a public IP for a while.  We have been seeing messages popping up "Login Failed.  Please Try Again".  With these units on a public IP, someone out there is trying to gain access via telnet.  

 

I would just disable Telnet, but they are in a room that is using a touch panel that is controlling with them via IP.

 

Yes, I know that they need to be behind a firewall, but at this point we don't have one available.

 

Is there any way to suppress those pop up messages?

The way to stop the messages is to stop the source of them.  There is nothing in the system configurations which allow for the supression of on-screen messages.

Yeah, that is what I figured.  This next question probably belongs in a different thread, but can anyone recommend a stand alone firewall appliance that could be used for each unit?
