Good day!

We have HDX 7000HD with 5 points connected by it. One of them have the rights for multi-calls, others don't.

We are connected to the main Polycom by answer the call.

After 5 points are connected, we talked about 3 minutes. Then picture in our polycom of other points is freezing, but the main polycom saw us and could listen. Also we can see our picture in the bottom of screen, as it would be all right.

The desicion was to restart our system and get the call of the main polycom. But this thing took much time and we lost the important information.

What is the problem with our Polycom??

Hi Koss.

The MultiPoint on HDXs only supports Host + 3 other callers.  I'm surprised you connected more than that without a "busy" signal.

In documentation there is a number of 8 points. Why Host+3 callers?

Which "documentation" & what types of callers (IP, ISDN, Voice).  IIRC only the older HDX900x suppported 1+5 way Multi-point.

Is there an external bridge involved in this type of call?

There is a documents for user and admin on the disc, which was compared with device. There are some tables on them, where the dependence between quantity of connected points and the speed of connection are posted. It's the page "C-2".

The connection is on IP.

HDX-7000 support only 3+1 Calls. Read carefully Admin Guide (p. 112)

Hi Koss.  Yep.  I can see how you could mis-interpret Admin Guide Page C-2.  The table shows Maximums for the HDX Series.

Only the HDX9004 with an approproate MP key could MP more than 3+Host sites.  If more  than 4 sites are required, I would urge you to consider investing any budget set asside for MPkeys to purchasing a bridging service, (cloudy or not) or your own on site RMX bridge.

Happy NY 🙂
