Hi

Organization have few HDX 6000/7000 terminals with software 3.0.5. Terminals have RTV licences and are intergrated with Lync 2010. Organization want to migrate Lync to version 2013.

Can they use HDX's with Lync 2013 without upgrade to  3.1.4 ?

HXD's support expired so upgrade are expensive.

There are different words that are used to describe different levels of Microsoft Lync interoperability.

For the HDX the qualified interoperability is with Lync 2010. The HDX is compatible with Lync 2013, which according to the release notes was done with software version 3.1.2. If you are currently at a 3.1.x level you can upgrade to the current software, 3.1.5, without a license. If you are at a version prior to 3.1.0 then you will need to get an upgrade license to be able to install 3.1.5.

For a group videoconferencing system that is qualified with Lync 2013 you will need to upgrade to the RealPresence Group Series of codecs.

You Polycom reseller or the Polycom sales support team can help you with the options available.

What mean license ??

I asked Polycom sales for upgrade software from 3.0.5 to 3.1.5 and he told me that we need renew support for HDX terminals.

Service re-activation fee HDX 7000 Series, for product one year or more out of support coverage - 610,00 EUR

and

Partner Premier, One Year, HDX 7000 Series - 788,00 EUR

so total cost for renew support for each terminal is 1398 EUR.

It's really expensive.
