We have brand new setup using Polycom RealPresence Group 700 with two Eagleyes cameras and Extron switches and recorder.  For some reason, we constantly have to unplug and plug in HDMI cable or the Mic cables from the ceiling in order for it to recognize Contents. The Polycom units are running the last 4.3X version before 5.0 came out.  Any ideas?  We tried switching HDMI cables with same result.

Camera2 -> Polycom1 -> Extron Switch1 -> Extron SMP 351 Recorder -> Loop Port -> Polycom1 -> Extron Switch1 -> Display2

In a way, its a loop, however, it is going in to different hdmi port and out of different hdmi different port on Polycom and Extron Switch.  The reason we did this is to capture the mic audio and also contents so it can be recorded.

Any ideas?

The third output of the GS 700 can be used for recording, and that is both the shared video and the audio.

From the RealPresence Admin Guide, which can be found at www.polycom.com/videodocumentation

Enable Recording on a RealPresence Group 700 System
You can use a RealPresence Group 700 system to record the audio and video of a call on Monitor 3.
To enable and disable recording:
1 In the web interface, select Admin Settings > Audio/Video > Monitors.
2 Select one of the following settings for Monitor 3:
 Recording Device with Speaker and Content. Select this setting to record what the speaker
says, along with any content audio.
 Recording Device with Speaker Only. Select this setting to record only what the speaker says.

That is what we are currently using.  The polycom monitor3 output gets feeded into Extron which connects to the recorder.

What is confusing me is this sentence:

The reason we did this is to capture the mic audio and also contents so it can be recorded.

The output 3 on the GS 700 provides both audio (local and far) and video for connecting to recording devices.
