Connecting People Through Stories 

Redford talks about what leads to forming connections among people, stories... Polycom talks about connecting people, but with technology. Technology that feels invisible and creates superior experiences. This has been core to Polycom since day one, when we were founded in a San Francisco garage 25 years ago in December of  1990. Today, I’m looking forward to explore how this connection premise through the films and our technology this week in Park City.

Bye Bye SF, Hello Park City

Leaving warm San Francisco with weather in low 70’s on way to chilly Park City Utah with 45 daytime temp and 15 as the lows…burr.  Luckily what will warm it up is the Sundance Film Festival.   It’s my first time to the festival and Park City, and I’ve heard great things about both.  I look forward to experiencing the charming town, participating in the festival and meeting the great people at the Sundance Institute.  But most of all, I look forward to seeing our Polycom technology in action.  We’ve already been connecting people and a highlight was bringing in Larry Kramer (from “Larry Kramer In Love and Anger” documentary) in from his Manhattan home -  thanks to the help of HBO and our RealPresence Desktop.    I understand it was an emotional exchange which I was sorry to miss but look forward to catching the Friday show and experiencing our technology to bring Larry back into Park City. 

As a marketing professional, I extend the Polycom value to key audiences.   Over the next few days I get to experience it myself and capture those special moments to help tell our story - experience how Polycom is true to its vision of “unleashing the power of human collaboration.” I can’t wait to witness the special transformative moments with esteemed colleagues Bob Knauf, Lindsay Daniels, great partner John McNeil and industry great Maribel Lopez.  Let’s get this started...
