Gamma and the Ghost Busters help raise funds for a good cause

For charity, the Polycom and Siphon Distribution team participated in Gamma Ball Rally this year again and drove a reasonably priced car across three countries, all the while competing with the other teams to win the on-road challenges.

Working together with the organiser and our long-standing UK voice business partner Gamma, and 29 other rally teams, we are pleased to say that we have successfully raised £130,000 for two important charities: Action through Enterprise and SpecialEffect.

This year the team rallied from Newbury in the UK to Amsterdam in the Netherlands, where a black-tie charity auction took place to conclude the fundraising event.

The course was full of many adventurous on-road hurdles and the competitive yet charitable spirits are captured in the entertaining pictures below.

This year the Polycom team completed the Gamma Ball Rally dressed as Ghost Busters.

But we weren’t alone as the ‘dressing up’ competition was quite intense.

Some of the rally participants were a little too serious about this fund-raising competition. Yes, the pressure was on!

We encouraged all teams to participate in Polycom’s ‘Don’t Bucket Up Again!’ challenge with a winning spirit. You just needed to make sure that your co-passenger doesn’t spill the water they are carrying in the bucket while completing the challenge. Easy!

Polycom Ghost Busters didn’t do that bad in the ‘Don’t Bucket Up Again!’ challenge either. We did say that we are committed to the job in hand – even if it’s not about audio or video collaboration this time.

The Dunkirk spirit helped Ghost Busters survive the treasure hunt while travelling from Belgium to the Netherlands.  

Lots of well-rounded sportsmen participated in the Gamma Ball Rally this year, meaning that we get to enjoy a quick game of football before the black-tie charity auction.

The Just Giving page to collect online donations for both charities will be active for some more time. And, we are already looking forward to the next year’s Gamma Ball Rally!
