(In case you were wondering: according to the Urban Dictionary “down” means "to be cool with.")
Fizzics Education located in Sydney, Australia, provides engaging science to audiences around the world. This week our Polycom Special Events program brought Fizzics Education to schools in the United States. Ben Newsome, Director of Fizzics Education, had to get up at 3:00 a.m. to deliver 3 programs to 14 classes spanning from the east coast to the west using Polycom CloudAXIS Suite.
In our first session “Talk to an Aussie” was for 3rd-5th graders.Students researched Australia and formulated questions to be asked. They were curious about Sydney, the Outback, animals, sports, history and food!
Our second session was “The Human Body” for middle school students. They discussed the workings of the heart, the composition of blood, the digestion process, and the parts of the brain.
And, we ended our session with “Four Slimes in 30 Minutes” for 1st and 2nd grades.
These students learned about chemical reactions and made slimes in their classrooms.
