Day 3: Hopping a Freighter to Bethel

My first adventure started at 5:00 am as Matt Hultman and I headed to the airport to catch a cargo plane to Bethel – which, by the way, has 3 flights a day and the only way to get to Bethel is via plane or boat … no highway connections.

Welcome and Introductions
Appy Hour – Participants share their favorite education apps
Virtual Field – Sheryl Sotelo, a STEM Education Consultant connected from GCI in Anchorage to build a simple circuit
Classroom Without Walls - Mr. Zorbas and Mr. Sparks two twenty plus teachers share how they have completely changed how they teach to better engage students in this interactive learning environment around the world.
Interactive Activity (Mystery Quest) – Participants paired off in two’s and chose a city in the U.S. but not in Alaska. Here is an example of what a short Mystery Quest would look like. Participants connected via Virtual Meeting Room using Polycom RealPresence Mobile to work on this assignment.

Alan Cleland and Matt Hultman also showcased some our new solutions: Media Suite and Web Suite

Sue Porter connected from Grand Rapid, MI. to talk about the many Programs and Resources Polycom has to offer in the education space.
