Earlier this week, we talked about the strength of the partnership between Microsoft and Polycom. It has been our goal since we started working in tandem more than a decade ago to deliver collaboration solutions that truly unleash the power of human collaboration and transform the way people work.

We are driven to deliver experiences and solutions that foster greater productivity for any and every organization – no matter the size.

EC15 - SfB Polycom Partner Social Sign.jpgThis morning at Enterprise Connect in Orlando, we took another important step to achieving that goal by announcing the first in a series of new solutions purpose-built for Skype for Business.  RoundTable 100, is an affordable and easy-to-use video solution designed for small-to-medium businesses, allowing them to turn any space into a video huddle room. Most importantly, SMBs can now realize the benefits of voice, video and content sharing that larger organizations are experiencing today.

Video collaboration provides a different platform for SMBs. Enterprise-level room systems make little sense financially and may not serve the purpose for smaller organizations. RoundTable 100 is allowing these organizations to embrace the video collaboration space and experience the boost in efficiency only video can deliver.

Easy to Use:

SfBpic2.jpgWe’ve said many times on this blog for video collaboration to be truly successful, no matter the organization’s size, it has to be easy to use and intuitive.  RoundTable 100 achieves this. For businesses without expanded IT budgets there will be no need for corporate domains or on-premises infrastructure so end users won’t require any support from IT. Set up is incredibly easy, taking just minutes from the time you open the box to when in use.

RoundTable 100 will also be very intuitive to use -- end users will connect to a Microsoft Office 365 account with Skype for Business. Simply log in and end users will easily connect via an application. From that point, it’s rich video, voice and content collaboration from anywhere at any time and from multiple locations.

More to come:

Microsoft’s re-branding of Lync to Skype for Business elevates the greater message – that workplaces and workspaces are continuing to evolve. It also illustrates the importance and value of innovation in driving new collaboration experiences that enhance current workflows not disrupt them. Our relationship with Microsoft has never been stronger, and that’s great news for organizations of all sizes. RoundTable 100 is a significant step toward ensuring a greater market need for video is realized.

It’s another step forward, with many more steps to come.
