Last week, Polycom Asia Pacific won awards from two of the most influential industry organisations in the region. On Wednesday June 25, members of the APAC team attended ICT industry analyst group, Frost & Sullivan’s 2014 Asia Pacific ICT Awards in Singapore. Polycom was named Enterprise Video Vendor of the Year. This was swiftly followed on Thursday June 26 in Hong Kong, where ComputerWorld honoured Polycom’s RealPresence Mobile and RealPresence Platform with awards in the Messaging and Collaboration Software, and Video Conferencing Systems categories, respectively.
In this guest post, Chris Hou, Senior Marketing Manager, Polycom Greater China explains the significance to Polycom of this year’s ComputerWorld Hong Kong Awards.
This is Polycom’s first time winning two Computerworld Hong Kong accolades in a single year.
As the leading source of technology news and information for IT influencers, Computerworld Hong Kong has sought to identify the best-in-class providers in the territory based on quality products, excellent service and leading technologies.
The award winners were chosen in part based on votes from Computerworld readers via an online Computerworld survey. The survey excludes vendors, partners, public relations professionals and consultants, so it objectively shares what the public in Hong Kong views as the best products and services in the market.
In addition to the survey, a panel of judges – comprised of leading industry authorities and Computerworld Hong Kong editors – evaluated the winners based on achievements from the last 6 – 8 months, while considering the following criteria:
The awards acknowledged Polycom as the leading video conferencing provider in this market segment, clearly demonstrating a high-level of service quality and product excellence.
The awards were presented to Polycom during a ceremony on June 26 held at the JW Marriott Hotel, Hong Kong.
The previous evening, June 25, Polycom was presented the Enterprise Video Vendor of the Year Award by Frost & Sullivan at a ceremony held at the Alkaff Mansion, Singapore. In its 11th consecutive year, the Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific ICT Awards programme seeks to recognise companies and individuals that have demonstrated best practices in their industry, commending the diligence, commitment, and innovative business strategies required to advance in the global marketplace.
