I am considering purchasing the POLY SYNC 20 device and have trouble getting an answer to a question. Poly won't talk to me b/c they, as it turned out, outsource pre-sales inquiries to partners like CDW; CDW rep wasn't able to answer.

I'm trying to understand if the USB Bluetooth adapter which comes with Sync 20+ version is required to connect to a PC wirelessly. Given that the Sync device has Bluetooth capability to pair with a smartphone, what prevents me from pairing it with my computer's Bluetooth? Other than streamlining the configuration process saving me from having to pair the device to my computer's Bluetooth, what other benefits do I get with the USB adapter over PC's native Bluetooth; or will SYNC 20 not pair with a PC at all?

Hello @RKDTOO

Welcome to the Poly community.

A local Bluetooth connection is at the mercy of the operating system and what the driver for this supports. Using a Poly Bluetooth dongle Poly is in control and can support additional features like call control and LED's etc.

If you require more Info I suggest your work with a Poly reseller or open a Poly support case as we are all just volunteers here

Best regards
