Good Morning All,

I've been gleaning the Polycom website and the forums, but I'm still confused as to what I need as far as infrastructure to support the RealPresence Mobile apps.

I was told by my Polycom representative that we needed the CMA and an RMX with the MPMx Media card. But looking through the forums, it looks like some are able to do "point to point" without the RMX / MPMx.

Am I reading this wrong?

If I could deploy the RealPresence software in a limited fashion, that would be HUGE.

Thanks!

you are correct on all points.....have you seen the documentation on our website? http://www.polycom.com/products/hd_telepresence_video/realpresence_mobile/index.html and the support docs here.... http://support.polycom.com/PolycomService/support/us/support/video/realpresence_mobile/realpresence_... We are fully supporting the mobile when registered to CMA. The CMA administrator can open a ticket with Polycom Support if he cannot resolve an issue with the Mobile. The Mobile, when CMA is not available, is supported in this forum only.

The Realpresence Mobile that is not registered to a CMA is only supported on a LAN point to point dialing by IP address. There is no way to configure a NAT address so you’re going to want to have your Dynamic port range open to traffic. You might consider just doing a DMZ if your still having problems from your router to the device. 1720 is your call setup negotiation port. so you'll need to make sure that is not blocked. 1719 needs to be open if your registering to a gatekeeper.

Ken,

Forgive me if I seem dense. Old Dog...New tricks...

So the Realpresence Mobile will work point to point without the CMA. It just has to be on the same network segment and dial using IP?

I have a CMA 5000. So the Realpresence software should be able to register to it, and do point to point calls to the other devices on the network, and in other segments not behind firewalls. (right?)

So If I add a VBP-ST, they should be able to do point to point, from let's say the Internet,  without needing the RMX / MDMx?
