I have a VoiceStation that I want to connect, but no one seems to know where the cable that originally came with it went. It has not been used in a some time, and I would really like to use it. I tried a straight through cable, a crossover cable, and another configuration I found online (1-2 flipped with 5-6), but nothing has worked. Can anyone please help me?

Specifically what I am looking for is the colors of the cable at the end connector on each end of the cable.

For example:

Side A; Starting with pin 1: white, blue, yellow, black, red, green, orange

Side B; Starting with pin 1: white, blue, yellow, black, red, green, orange

thank you!

Hello drewlentz,

looking at the original cable it looks like a straight through (Pin 1 on one end is Pin 1 on the other end) and the RJ45 Plug has the "special" nose on the side that prevents the cable to be accidentally plugged into a NIC Card.

I would suggest to contact your Polycom Reseller and order a 2457-00449-001:

8 Wire Console Cable, RJ-4 21ft, for VoiceStation 100, SoundStation2 and SoundStation2 without Display. Also Premier Satellite to Console Cable.

Maybe you have already damaged the Power Supply or the VoiceStation 500 itself by testing different combinations.

Best Regards

I started with a 568B cable and then tried a 568A cable. Neither worked. Is there something different about Polycom straight through cables as opposed to one that is crimped by hand (other than the tab)?

Thanks,
