I have connected the Soundstation into an analog input on our Samsung OfficeServer 7400 phone system. When the phone powers up the first time a get a dial tone but can't place a call. When I finally get the phone to release the attempted call the dial tone is replaced with a tone that beeps. Our fax system connects to the same analog card on the phone system as the polycom and can communicate with no problem. Any insight in what is wrong would be greatly appreciated as management has board meeting on Thursday and need the Polycom phone to be functional.

Thanks

Hello Jeff Thomas,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

Providing a little bit of history about the device in question is sometimes helpful.

  • Is this a brand new unit or is this a used device?
  • Has this unit ever worked?
  • What is the exact part number of the unit?

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

My apologies for the lack of information. It is a used phone that we bought new about 5 years ago. It was last used more than 3 years ago.

The beep does not sound like a busy signal.

The part number is 2201-16000-601

It is connected to a Samsung OfficeServe 7400 phone system , 8SL12 analog card.

I hope this helps.

Thanks Steffen

Hello Jeff Thomas,

have you tried to move the phone to the same extension as the Fax or the other way round to see if it is an issue with the Line or plugged in a simple analog phone ?

Have you powered off the unit and re-powered it?

If the above was all tested I can only assume the unit has somehow become defective.
