Wondering if anyone else has had hardware failures, out of warranty of course, with the wireless conference phones.

We probably have 15 of the units and these things get little use. I'm working on my 2nd unit that has no signal and won't re-register.  I've followed all the knowledge base advice (re-register, reset factory defaults, disconnect battery, reboot phone, download latest firmware and upgrade, etc.) without success.

I did a pay-per-incident with tech support on the first unit to fail and that resulted in "the base station must have gone bad."  Not paying $35 to hear the same thing on this one.

Polycom offers no option to replace the base station unit.

Bugged that a $500+ unit looks like new, is a couple of years old, has failed and there's nothing I can do to get it fixed.

Polycom has always meant quality to me, but I'm going to look for a cheaper solution if I have to throw away 13% of the units I buy.

Anyone else share the same frustration?

Hello captnamo ,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

You could start by posting a few serial numbers either as a reply here or via the community mail.

Polycom does offer out of warranty repairs for all of our products but we would need to check the units if it is the base or the unit itself that has gone faulty.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Hello Bob,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

As you can see the original poster never replied so I was unable to follow up.

How old are your units in question?
