HI,

We have a panasonic KES-824 PBX and I swapped one handest for the Soundstation 2 (LCD, non-Ex).

The SS receives incoming calls (internal and external), and makes internal calls, but it will not make external outgoing calls.

When I press the SS call button, i get an external dial tone (and other handsets show an external line has been taken) but after it dials the number i just get a flat tone.

I have tried with two SS, swapping power units/cables etc. No luck.

Should there be come special PBX config for a soundstation? I thought you could just swap it for a phone.

Any thoughts appreciated, thanks in advance.

Hello JS2012,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

Is the line setup to use DTMF or Pulse dialing?

Our Phones only support DTMF. One other thing could be the country settings and the DTMF Value not "high" enough or to high for your phone.

Have you tested with a Phone tested to access the line in parallel to "hear" if the SoundStation dials?

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

HI Steffen

Thanks for the reply. We are DTMF, and based in the UK.

We bought the unit from another UK-based company who said it worked fine when plugged into their panasonic PBX.

I should say, I have also taken the unit to a residential line and plugged the SS into a standard home phone socket, same problem.

I have not done the parallel test you mention.
