How to set the FLASH timing for a non-LCD display SoundStation?

The following steps describe how to set or reset the FLASH timing for a non-LCD display SoundStation:

First,  place the console in diagnostic mode:

  1.     Power up the console holding the MUTE key down.
  2.     Release the MUTE key after the bong is heard.

Note: The console must be in diagnostic mode in order to enter or view the country code!

To set a new FLASH Timing Code:

  1.     Press and release the # key
  2.     Press and release the * key.
  3.     All the LEDs will turn on.
  4.     Enter 6 consecutive digits between 0 - 7. (see below for a table giving the correct country code for each country and how to translate the LED patterns.)
  5.     When the 6th digit is entered, all LEDs will turn off.

To view the current FLASH Timing Code:

  1.     Press and release the # key.
  2.     Press and release the 9 key.
  3.     6 LED patterns are displayed consecutively each of periods 1 sec.

To reset the FLASH to factory defaults:

  1.     Unplug the phone's power source.
  2.     Press and hold the MUTE and '5' (on the dial pad) keys simultaneously.
  3.     While continuing to hold the above keys, power the phone on.
  4.     The FLASH Timing settings will now be reset to their defaults.

Use the following table to translate the LED pattern into the proper Country Code digits:

Going clockwise, MUTE_LED_1 is the 8 o’clock, MUTE_LED_2 is the 12 o’clock, and MUTE_LED_3 is the 4 o’clock position, when a person looks at SoundStation with the keyboard facing him/her.

NOTE: It is strongly suggested that FLASH timing not be manipulated unless absolutely necessary. Changing this can cause the phone to be out of compliance for certain regulations in some countries. Polycom manufactures phones for many regions with the required settings for each country. Changing the flash timing on a US unit will not necessarily bring the phone into compliance for another country's regulations. Where possible, purchase the appropriate SKU for the given country to assure all settings are correct!
