We wand to disable the Call Forwrding feature, however the phone automaticaly renables it and shows the icons on the home and idle screens

Modesl: VVX600 and VVX300

FW: UC 5.5.0

Base Profile set to Lync

provisiong server conf file settings:

feature.forward.enable=0

homeScreen.forward.enable=0

softkey.feature.forward=0

After phone reboots it writes its own conf file [mac address]--phone.cfg with the following settings:

feature.forward.enable=1

homeScreen.forward.enable=1

softkey.feature.forward=1

If we manually edit the [mac address]--phone.cfg, the phone overwrites the settings again.

We have tried to play with reg.1.serverFeatureControl.cf and reg.1.serverFeatureControl.localProcessing.cf settings, but there was no change in behavior.

We would like to disable the Call Forwarding feature where required

For phone where it is enabled we want to hide the home and soft Forward keys.

Hello Nikolay Petrov,

welcome back to the Polycom Community.

The community's Skype FAQ and the 5.5.0 Release notes contains this Information here:

Jun 15, 2016 Question:Can I use UC Software 5.5.0 for Lync or Skype for Business deployments?

Resolution:UC Software 5.5.0 has not been qualified by Microsoft to use in Lync or Skype for Business deployments. Polycom will not support UC Software 5.5.0 use in Lync or Skype for Business deployments.

In addition the FAQ contains this post:

Feb 01, 2016 Question:Why am I unable to disable the call forwarding softkey on a Polycom VVX Business media Phone since upgrading to UC Software 5.4.0 or later?

Resolution:When using a Polycom VVX Business media Phone running UC Software 5.4.0 or later in LYNC Base profile the Skype for Business / LYNC Voice Routing => Voice Policy takes precedence over the softkey.feature.forward=”0” parameter. Either creating a new Voice Policy for these phones or removing the “Enable call forwarding” and/or “Enable simultaneous ringing of phones” will disable the key.

Thanks for the answer. I have been doing several changes today to hide the forward icon without luck and saw this post. I came across 3 different post

This one says it can be hidden

https://community.polycom.com/t5/VoIP-SIP-Phones/FAQ-Can-I-customize-the-Home-Screen-Icons/td-p/7492...

There was another one which says its not available yet (for a community thread on older version i guess)

Would be nice if the community threads that are not relevant anymore can be retired, or updated with latest link.

Also this would be a nice to have feature to allow the hide/show forward button with a config rather than in the voice policy. Now I need to worry about having two different policies in the server for each country/office which would have been a lot more simple if i had the control with the configs

Regards,

Shak

Hello @shazub1,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

It is always useful to include the currently used UC Software version as issues experienced or a question asked may already be addressed in a newer release.

This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes, Administrator Guides or FAQ post’s.

The above is also stated in the "Must Read First" and is the absolute minimum requirement every new post should include. .

In addition providing us with this basic information gives Polycom an idea what Software Versions are used in the field and avoids wasting time trying to troubleshoot issues which have already been addressed.

Therefore the Polycom VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Question: How can I find out my SIP or UC Software Version of my Phone?
Resolution: Please check here

As this is a Skype for Business related issue I would always search in the Skype FAQ first. In addition certain features are pushed to us by our Partner Microsoft.

So therefore we have this in the S4B FAQ:

The above hopefully explains why you are unable to disable the key. If you have a complaint about this please work with Microsoft.
