We have Polycom VVX 310, 601 models. If users use the Sign in using a code using Skype for Buisness they are automatically signed out over time.... maybe a few days.

 

Running versions

5.5.2.8571 on 601

 

5.5.2.8571 on 301

 

If we go into the phone by going to the IP and signing the user in manually or the user manually enters their credentials the user stays signed in for a longer period of times maybe weeks or months...

 

Is there a way just to tie a phone to a user without using credentials? We keep fighting the battle of people getting signed out randomally.


We are 100% cloud based with Skype for Buisness online.

A really good starting point and actually a minimum basic information for a new post would be to tell us your currently used software version.

we should look for the root cause of the phone signing out but that would require you to open a ticket.

You can post and reply with some logs and other community members may reply and try and help you.


In order to raise a support ticket you need to work with your Polycom reseller as they need to do this for you. End Customers are usually unable to open a ticket directly with Polycom support.

If this is some sort of an Internet discounter please post either your phone's MAC address or your Polycom devices serial so I can look up who would be able to support you. This may not be who you purchased the Polycom device from.

Did you find a solution to this? All of my Polycom phones are logging out on their own after a few weeks using the web sign in. We do require all of our users to have MFA so the web login is the only option that we have. It is becoming a constant source of complaints. Microsoft says talk to Polycom. Polycom says talk to Microsoft.

 

I reviewed the FAQs posted below your comments by Polycom and was unable to find any help with those posts either. Also tried setting up configuration files with authentication details and app specific passwords to avoid the MFA (which I would rather not have to do) and that also failed. Not sure why a user cannot use the web sign-in and the phone stay signed in until signed out...
