Hello, we are using skype for business server 2015 and polycom vvx 311 phones. The phones are signed in with s4b users, and from time to time they just random sign out of the phone (or the phone reboots and then the skype sign in fails), and then needs to be manually logged in. Is there a way, to monitor these logouts, to log in the phone, before users starts complaining about phone not working?

Hello @Augustinas,

welcome back to the Polycom Community.

As already explained you should focus on the issue why the phone is logging out but also use a currently supported software version.

  • UC Software 5.7.0 is the current latest
  • UC Software 5.6.1 is the current latest -1
  • If you want to stay on 5.5. please use UC Software 5.5.4

Hello @Augustinas,

welcome to the Polycom Community.

It is always useful to include the currently used UC Software version as issues experienced or a question asked may already be addressed in a newer release.

This also allows yourself and others to check against current software release notes, Administrator Guides or FAQ post’s.

The above is also stated in the "Must Read First" and is the absolute minimum requirement every new post should include. .

In addition providing us with this basic information gives Polycom an idea what Software Versions are used in the field and avoids wasting time trying to troubleshoot issues which have already been addressed.

Therefore the Polycom VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

Question: How can I find out my SIP or UC Software Version of my Phone?
Resolution: Please check here

You should investigate why these phones actually sign out rather than monitor these as there should be no reason for this.

The FAQ contains this post:

Nov 24, 2014 Question:Can the Phone send Telephony Event Notifications?

Resolution: Please check => here <=

In addition Polycom offers the RPRM / RealPresenceResourceManager so you can contact your Polycom reseller for more details on this.

Current software version we use is 5.5.1.15880. I found out, that most of the cases phone reboots, and then fails to sign in to skype for business, so this might be a faulty POE, maybe.
