Hi,

We are having a number of issues at one of our clients site, see below:

Issue – Polycom Trio 8800 - Doesn’t receive an IP address from DHCP Server

14 of the clients 15 Trio’s are not receiving a DHCP address. All were fine until the last month or so.

Issue – Polycom VVX – Regularly signs out of Teams

These phones will sign out of their Teams account after a random period, maybe 3 days, maybe 2 months.

They actually sign into a off prem Skype server hosted by Microsoft and this then links to its Teams account.

Issue – Polycom Trio 8800 - Doesn’t receive an IP address from DHCP Server

We have looked into this, and discovered there is a setting on the Polycom Phones called CDP Compatibility, by disabling this the phone then gets an IP.

We would like to investigate this further however, as for the last 5 years the Trios have worked fine without any issues. Are there any drawbacks to disabling CDP compatibility.

Hello @TattyPolyFreak ,

Welcome to the Poly Community.

Both the communities Must Read First or Read 1st and if available the FAQ reference the basic minimum information a new or follow-up post should contain.

This ensures the questions having to be asked are limited and any new or follow-up post contains the right amount of details to ensure any voluntary participant within the community does not spend additional time chasing basic information.

Unfortunately, your post fell a bit short of the above-explained requirements and we kindly ask you, therefore, to ensure to read these sections and ensure a reply (not Edit!) provides as much detail as possible

Please ensure you familiarise yourself with the FAQs listed in my signature for your convenience.

The best and quickest way forward is to contact our Support organization as the community is run by volunteers only.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards

I can't speak to the DHCP issue, other than to say it is likely due to a change on the network side and not the devices. However, looking at the logs on the affected devices may help you identify the issue.

As far as the issue with the Poly VVX phones signing out of their accounts, you need to reconfigure these devices to connect to the Teams SIP Gateway instead of the legacy Skype for Business Online gateway. Upgrade Skype for Business Online (3PIP) phones to Microsoft Teams using SIP Gateway - Microsoft Com...
