It was reported today that our VVX phones are all joining SfB meetings muted, and the ability to unmute them is disabled.  I tested and was able to re-create the issue.  If you join from your VVX, or if your default audio device in your Skype client on your laptop is set for the VVX, and you join from outlook on your laptop, the VVX joins muted as well.  We haven't made any config changes to the VVX's.

 

Has anyone ever seen this?

You are using an unsupported software version 5.5.0 for your installation.


The 5.5.0 Release notes and the community's VoIP FAQ contains this post here:

 

Jun 15, 2016 Question:Can I use UC Software 5.5.0 for Lync or Skype for Business deployments?

Resolution:UC Software 5.5.0 has not been qualified by Microsoft to use in Lync or Skype for Business deployments. Polycom will not support UC Software 5.5.0 use in Lync or Skype for Business deployments.

 

UC Software 5.3.1 is also no longer supported and you should test 5.4.4 instead.

The next step is to raise a ticket.


In order to raise a support ticket you need to work with your Polycom reseller as they need to do this for you. In case this is some sort of an Internet discounter please post your phone's MAC address so I can look up who would be able to support you.

Any resolution to this? We are using Skype for Business Online, and VVX 501 with version 5.9.0.9373.

When joining a conference call, Skype desktop app shows microphone greyed out and can't be unmuted.
