Phone Model: RealPresence Trio 8800

Call Platform: Skype for Business with telephone

MAC Address: 64:16:7F:76:3C:82

Day 1 issue, provisioning server setup and works with 000000000000.cfg but won't use <MAC>.cfg

 

 

I setup a HTTP provisioning server and my Polycom Trio 8800 connects and downloads updates as long as there is a 0000000000.cfg file. When i create 64167F763C82.cfg and delete 0000000000.cfg it just says "Invalid provisioning details" 

 

I tried using 64167F763C82.cfg and 64167F763C82-phone.cfg

Hello @Anders ,

 

thanks for providing additional details. Only your 3rd and 4th Edit of the post contained the information that the CONFIG_FILES="Styrelsenconfig.cfg" actually adds the file you are trying to configure the Trio with.

 

  • Is this a Windows or Linux HTTP Server?
    Linux Servers are case sensitive aka 64167F763C82 is not the same as 64167f763c82
  • Do you have any logs showing the Phone to connect to the server?
    Settings > Logging > Module Log Level Limits >
    Settings > Logging > Global Settings > Global Log Level Limit > Log File Size (Kbytes) > 10240

I suggest Copy and Curl at Event 1 and then try again.

 

If this fails simply work with SEC DataCom A/S as they sold the phone in 31/05/2019

 

In order to raise a support ticket, you need to work with your Poly reseller as they may need to do this for you.

End Customers are usually unable to open a ticket directly with Poly support.

I have read both of those FAQ before posting and as i described i created a copy of 00000000000.cfg and renamed it <MAC>.cfg (64167F763C82.cfg)

After reading the log file i tried creating a cfg file called 64167f763c82-phone.cfg and the Trio 8800 finds the file and loads the 64167f763c82-phone.cfg + styrelsenconfig.cfg but now it automatically disables webserver configuration when it loads the config.

 

If i delete 64167f763c82-phone.cfg and point to styrelsenconfig.cfg in 0000000000.cfg i can enable webserver configuration again.

 

If i create a config called 4167f763c82.cfg the trio doesn't load the file and just goes straight for 000000000000.cfg

 

Any ideas to solve this?

Again your log does not show the part where the 64167f763c82.cfg or 000000000000.cfg was loaded.

 

From a Filename perspective quote from both FAQs:

 

NOTE: The names of configuration files can be anything as long as they are not <mac>-phone.cfgand/or <mac>-web.cfg 

 

or

 

23456789012-phone.cfg The file will be created by the phone if changes via the Phones GUI / WEB Interface have been made only since > UCS 3.3.0 The provisioning server needs to allow to upload this file or it can impact the phones ability to store settings made via the Phone.
123456789012-web.cfg The file will be created by the phone if changes via the Phones Web Interface have been made only since > UCS 3.3.0 The provisioning server needs to allow to upload this file or it can impact the phones ability to store settings made via the Phone.

I decided to do a full reset of the Polycom trio 8800 and create a config file called 64167f763c82.cfg (lower case letters) and now it's working thanks for helping me.
