Hi -- we're trying out Skype for Business, and demoing a VVX 501 phone to see if it works for our business. We're running the latest software version: 5.6.0.17325 (I understand this isn't officially supported yet for Skype for Business).
We have a problem when dialing contacts from the Outlook / Exchange Global Address List (GAL).
We can easily search GAL contacts on the phone using the "Skype for Business Directory." However, when we tap on a contact to call, the phone always tries to dial the email address (which doesn't work) instead of the phone number associated with the contact.
We've tried setting:
call.urlNumberModeToggling="1" // (we've also tried "0")
However the phone always tries calling the email address instead of the phone number.
Is there any way to the the phone to dial a number in the contact, instead of the email? (Or is can we set any special parameters in exchange with Set-MailContact?)
Semenko,
If you do not want to use or see the SIP URI when calling on the phones you can disable that. SIP URI is the default calling method if the contact is Lync/SfB enabled. This is a problem if the user is enabled but not for Enterprise Voice.
Put this setting in your configuration to disable URI dialing.
feature.urlDialing.enabled="0"
Hello Semenki,
welcome to the Polycom Community.
Usually a long press on the number allows to dial a Number instead of a SIP URI and since UC Software 5.6.0 we remember this like the Skype client aka the next time we dial the number instead of the SIP URI.
I am nowhere near a phone to test the suggestion of James.

----------------Unfortunately, neither configuration option (call.urlNumberModeToggling="0" or feature.urlDialing.enabled="0") changes the default for searching the global contact directory.
I'll update this thread in the future if I find a solution.
Hi,
Did you get this resolved?
Thanks
