----------------Music on hold works when the lync client performs the hold however, there is no music when the polycom vvx device performs the hold.
The devices are currently on UCS 5.0.2.
Does this latest software support music on hold with lync? Are there changes I have to make in the configuration files to make MOH work?
Hello Ryan Heng,
welcome to the Polycom Community.
No current Polycom Software for LYNC supports MOH on the Endpoint side and apart from Microsoft LYNC I struggle to name one other PABX in the field that would expect the End Point itself to provide the Music on Hold.
I suggest yourself and everybody else facing this issue to speak to Microsoft and get them to implement this on the LYNC server rather than having an individual endpoint to do so.
Please be aware of the following when utilizing UCS 4.1.0 or later:
The use of Polycom UC Software versions 4.1.X (“Software”) requires the purchase of a separate Software license for every device that will use the Software in a Lync environment. You may not install, access, or use the Software in a Lync environment on more devices than are listed on your license until additional licenses have been purchased and authorized by Polycom. These licenses should be purchased from the same company from which you purchased the devices. You may operate devices against a Lync server for trial purposes for up to 30 days without purchasing a license. Use of the Software is subject to the terms and conditions of the End User License Agreement.
Polycom reserves the right to audit your deployment to verify that you have sufficient licenses to match the number of devices being used.
Information in regards of License Part Numbers can be found => here <=

----------------Okay the VVX itself does not support Music On Hold. I am using a Lync certified Ferrari PSTN Gateway and activated Music On HOld on the gateway. Music is getting played when using Lync Client but NOT when using a VVX 500 with 5.1.2.
Do i have to set specific parameters on the vvx?
What should the parameter be to turn OFF music on hold?
