CCX 500 firmware upgrade

Hi

Is it so that I cannot upgrade the firmware for the CCX 500 devices from web interface? Instead I need to download the file, copy to USB and then attach it into device?

Re: CCX 500 firmware upgrade

Hello ,

Welcome to the Poly Community.

Both the communities Must Read First or Read 1st and if available the FAQ reference the basic minimum information a new or follow up post should contain.

This ensures the questions having to be asked are limited and any new or follow up post contains the right amount of details to ensure any voluntary participant within the community does not spend additional time chasing basic information.

Unfortunately, your post fell a bit short of the above-explained requirements and we kindly ask you, therefore, to ensure to read these sections and ensure a reply (not Edit!) provides as much detail as possible

Please ensure you familiarise yourself with the FAQ’s listed in my signature for your convenience.

As an example:

Oct 7, 2011 Question: How can I setup my Phone / Provisioning / Download / Upgrade / Update / Downgrade Software?
Resolution: Please check => here <=

Mar 30, 2012 Question: Can I host my own upgrade Server?
Resolution: Please check => here <=

In addition, as this was posted in the Microsoft section our Partner Microsoft has ways to upgrade the device. If used in Teams mode the TAC can be used.

Please provide more details and the community can try and help

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards

Re: CCX 500 firmware upgrade

Hi Steffen,

Big thanks for your reply.

Some of the answers on the FAQ are "pretty" old and some contains links which are not working anymore.

But I was hoping to see possibility that I have downloaded the latest firmware to my local computer and then I could upload the file like:

PetriKapiainen_0-1654500606088.png

As when testing one device, I do not wish to setup too heavy system to that yet.

But following your response, I should setup the local IIS server which then could share the new versions.

I found from Poly CCX Business Media Phones with Microsoft  (6.2.21 | September 2020) a method for updating the CCX 400 with USB, but not tested if that is working for CCX 500.

The actual challenge I do have is, I would like to use TAC's provisioning method for the device, but that seems to not be available on this version and I though if newer releases brings some new possibilities to that.

Also the network configuration seems to not support manual configuration for the proxy settings, or at least I have not found them yet. Perhaps that could also do with newer version.

Re: CCX 500 firmware upgrade

Hello @Petri Kapiainen ,

Welcome to the Poly Community.

The date should not matter as some answers in the FAQ are still the same to this day.

The shared posts should explain exactly what you can do and what you cannot.

For example, the Poly posted software way requires the phone to be able to reach out to the internet.

You cannot simply download the software and update using this method. This is explained in the 2nd post on how to do this locally with either an local FTP or HTTP.

Dec 04, 2015 Question:How can I provision/upgrade the software via USB for the Poly Trio, CCX and/or Visual+?

Resolution: Please check this post => here <=

The above for example explains how to upgrade using a USB Stick.

The CCX 400 method is a specific example and only works for the CCX 400, therefore, no other models are mentioned.

It would also help to outline links/faq posts which no longer work so us volunteers can update these

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards
