I did search on this I cannot find a direct answer.
Is there a way to make BoTE work on different subnet and pair your phone ? (I know audiocode and snom does it with PIN auth). But I couldn't find anything for the polycom (VVX400 I have here).
Second question is for MAC and linux.
I assume BoTE is windows only, this bring me to my MAC and linux users, if we purchase CX models polycom, since they are USB (and I have not seen drivers on the website). WIll it work on MAC and linux or it's also windows only?
Thanks !
Carl

Ok thanks, this is quiet annoying for us we don't have much WIndows users and no PC are connected to their phone and they won't be either.
I wonder if polycom will improve the BToE to make it like the competitors

Hello Carl Olsen,
welcome to the Polycom Community.
The VLAN Post is inthe FAQ:
Jul 10, 2013 Question: How can I use VLAN's with Polycom phones?
Resolution: Please check => here <=
Polycom's BToE Implementation is the furthest progress in regards to feature compatibility to the original Microsoft implementation.
To my knowledge at present no other competitor supports Audio aka feature parity with the CX version of this.
Polycom always enhances their features but we are unable to discuss these in public.
I can only advise you to work with a Polycom reseller as they can share the roadmap once an NDA has been signed.
In regards MAC OS Support and CX Phones you would need to work with Microsoft on this as Polycom and other manufacturers produce these optimized for Microsoft® Lync® devices after a reference design and the embedded OS running on the phones is provided, supported and maintained by our partner Microsoft®.
You therefore may want to reach out to the Microsoft® community and / or Microsoft® support directly instead as this is the most direct and efficient path.

I have used recent versions of BToE with Snom, AudioCodes and YeaLink. While Polycom doesn’t support PIN paring so far their implementation works better over all. If the remote/PIN paring is important to you raise a feature request with your reseller.
We are almost all Windows with just a few Macs, but we have some executive level users that don't like having their calls ring on the computer screen. We disable the enterprise voice functionality in their client via the local registry and they can do everything except manage delegates that they need right from the VVX! So you can at least stop users from answering using the Lync pc client.
