We currently have a CMA 4000 and an RMX 4000 in our internal network. We are then using a VBP-ST (5300LF2-ST25) to have all mobile clients register to our CMA from the public Internet. See my attachment for the network diagram.

The problem that we have is that clients registering on the VBP can only call other endpoints registered on the VBP. But we can not call endpoints registered on the CMA. Nor can we dial to conferences on the RMX. We can dial-out though. For some reason the VBP does not forward searches to the CMA, although the VBP-ST has to relay all calls to the CMA (if I'm correct).

Is it correct for me to assume that I need an additional VBP-E for this task?

After reading your post what i feel is that there is some port issue between your VBP Public IP and CMA Local Lan IP.

I have the same infra at my premises and my CMA registered clients and able to call VBP Public IP registered clients. As all the call are between registered end-points so i dont thing you require VBP E box.

I ll suggest you to speak to your network team to inspect the case.

Thank you for your reply.

CMA clients are able to call to clients registered on the VBP-ST, but my issue is that unregistered clients from the public Internet are unable to call to clients registered directly on the CMA. The VBP-ST does not forward the search to the CMA.

have you create a site link over CMA and add all the in house EP in that site link??

That is correct, I have the VBP and the in house endpoints on the same site, and a site link between that site and the Internet/VPN site.

Create a new site and add all the in house EP in that site and integrate it with VBP to allow all the added EP to place publlic call.

Hi,

Unfortunately the VBP-ST does not allow calls made with unregistered endpoints. The VBP-ST is for registered endpoints only. In order to allow unregistered endpoints to call internal video resources, you need a VBP-E. The VBP-ST also does not allow you to call from internal registered endpoints to unregistered external endpoints either.

Hi

We have CMA 4000 , RMX 2000 , VBP5300ST along with endpoints and CMA desktop client. We are not able make call to public IP enpoint or client architecture which have RPX Room which have VBP5300 E Box along with MCU.

Can any one can help?

Do i need to buy VBP 5300E BOX?

HP Recommended

Correct. An VBP-E box will allow both inbound and outbound dialing to nonregistered Public Endpoints or other devices behind another VBP-E. The VBP-ST will only allow both inbound and outbound dialing to registered Public endpoints. The key difference is if the Public endpoint is registered or not.
