Hello,

we have deployed Polycom Media Manager in DMZ, using a Citrix Netscaler as a reverse proxy for internet access. But we have some problem on this scenario. Maybe someone could help.

1. Mediamanager will publish on internet trough Citrix Netscaler that will provide reverse proxy and https offloading (the https request on internet will be proxied to http on the Mediamanager).
2. Mediamanager can work in this scenario?
3. There is some drawback or technical limitations for this scenario?
4. There are some techinical limitations when we use rewriting or url transformations?
5. Do you have some use case/deployment guide about this scenario (or a similar scenario)?

Thank you so much.

Gian,

This falls into the “not tested, not supported, but might work” category as long as the url transformations are invisible to the MM.

We know that others have tried similar ways to have HTTPS setup externally from IIS itself and we have seen that this does not work well with Microsoft Silverlight at this and will not play back streams.

I do not recommend it.

Certainly as part of our implementation services, Polycom Global Services can help you design and install a scalable, supportable solution.   They can be reached from http://support.polycom.com/PolycomService/support/us/support/Contact_Us.html

Hope this helps.
