Hi,

Can we use RealPresence Access Director (RPAD) without firewall?

If we use only a small feature of RPAD, RPAD seems to function as VBP-E Series, doesn't it?

We know the differences between RPAD and VBP Series. But we don't have DMA and RM which are recommended by Polycom and we couldn't have a enough test for RPAD.

If it is impossible to use RPAD without firewall like VBP-E, would you inform us the reason?

Thank you~~

the RPAD is not a firewall and when you deploying RPAD, it is not replacing the firewall. RPAD typically will be located in a DMZ.

Any scenario in which the RPAD is exposed directly to the Internet (without firewall) wouldn't supported at Polycom and could be a threat to your network security.

This is different from the VBP which was deployed as a firewall often in parallel with existing firewall.

RPAD hasn't a embedded gatekeeper and have to be deployed with internal call server (DMA).
