The pre-upgrade patch has been removed from the support due to some misunderstandings people were having about the nature of the patch. People were applying the patch before they had their 6.0 reimage disks and causing their CMAs to become unusable.

The pre-upgrade patch is not a stable build of software to leave the CMA running on, its function is to convert the database to be compatible with 6.0 so that a backup can be made prior to the reimage procedure. Once the database has been converted however, the 5.5 CMA can no longer read or write the database properly. So once the pre-upgrade patch has been installed, the CMA has to be reimaged to 6.0 immediately.

Now, when a customer recieves their 6.0 reimage disk, they are sent instructions on how to download the pre-upgrade patch via FTP. This change was made to prevent people from unknowingly impacting their service up-time by applying the pre-patch before they had the disk to re-image to 6.0.
