Scenario.
Three SS-C8 in an equipment room need to drive primary HDX ceiling mics in 3 rooms
one 29mtrs away, one 30 odd mtrs away & one 42mtrs away.
None of them are working using CAT5 FTP cable (Solid core) including the 29mtr room
(that falls within the 100foot specification in the Integrators Guide).
The pin out is correct because lopping 2 mtrs off the 29mtr cable & re-terminating the 2mtr
cable for test works OK.
The only suggestion I can come up with is replace the 1st Ceiling enclosure with HDX Ceiling mic extension,
remove the "glof ball" & put the Primary HDX Ceiling mic enclosure 25 feet closer to the SS-C8.
Any other suggestions?
Pete

Hi Kendo.
This was eventually solved by using Cat5e Foil wrapped twisted pair with screened RJ45 connectors. Even the 42mtr run. Not bad.

Pete, there is no electrical/physical difference between the first ceiling mic and the extension mic. The only difference is in the kit packaging. The first one comes with the wall plate and a 100 ft cord. The extension comes with only a 25 ft cord. Longer cable runs between boxes may have problems and are not supported. I have seen guys use the 50 ft cable between boxes and it will not work.
So I don't see any reason why using a box with no golf ball would not work. We haven't tried it.
