Wireless Content & Room Names Option

Hello,

Since the Pano app is supported by the following system.

Polycom Realpresence Group Series

Polycom RealPresence Debut

Polycom Centro

Polycom RealPresence Trio

Is there any plans for the Pano App to allow room names as an option instead of IP address ?. I understand that the Polycom Pano system supports this function, but the other systems supported above cant use rooms names to connect even after the initial connection. Only IP addresses are displayed in the recent rooms list.

Is there any plans for this to be intoduce in a future release ?

Thanks,

Re: Wireless Content & Room Names Option

@Joe85,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. For the non-Trio systems, the Pano App will try to retrieve the room name immediately after a sucessful connection has been made and add the room name to the "Recent Rooms" list (i.e. only a one-time entry of the IP address is required). On Windows 10 and MacOS, the Pano App is able to detect Polycom Pano systems via their Bluetooth discovery and will automatically show their room names in the "Recent Rooms" list.

For Trio, we are currently working to resolve this feature disparity.

Re: Wireless Content & Room Names Option

Hi Rob,

Really good to know that something is being done to fix this function. We have 2 group series 500, 5 Trio 8800 and 1 Pano . THe Pano App cannot find any of the rooms apart from the Pano box which only shows up intermittently after toggleing the bluetooth on and off a few time.

One thing that works without fail is are the DNS room names. easy to setup / Job done. I understand why bluetooth discovery looks attractive, as there is no need to DNS map IP addresses.

PLease see the attached images.
