Pano HDMI connection after "End Session"

We have a Desktop PC connected to Pano by HDMI IN and then Pano connect to a touchable monitor by HDMI out.

Everthing is OK, execpt when a user ends the HDMI connection by "X" button of the screen or press the "end session". Once "X" or "end session" is pressed, Pano simply does not show PC HDMI in anymore.

In order to restore the PC screen, we have to unplug the HDMI In from Pano and plug in again or restart PC.

Will it be possible to have an button to "reconnect HDMI IN" on Pano?

Re: Pano HDMI connection after "End Session"

Hello @PCHK ,

Welcome to the Poly Community.

Usually the communities specific sections state in the Must Read First and the FAQ reference the basic minimum information a new or follow up post should contain.

This ensures the questions having to be asked are limited and any new or follow up post contains the right amount of details to ensure any voluntary participant within the community does not spend additional time chasing basic information.

As a reminder the basic information asked for:

  • Provide the exact Software Version of your Codec
  • Provide the Codec Model
  • Provide the Call Platform (aka openSIP,Teams, Skype for Business Online, Skype for Business on Premise, Lync, Zoom, BlueJeans or H.323)
  • Additional Poly Infrastructure (RPRM,PDMS,RPCS,RMX or CMA)
  • If possible provide a Log and either attach them or use the Code Tag.Consult the Troubleshooting Section found within the FAQ if applicable
  • If possible provide the Serial Number of the device
  • Provide details for example if the issue is a day 1 issue or only happened after an upgrade or any other relevant details
  • For questions around Support please check here

Whilst providing some of these details may not directly impact any possible answer the community can provide, it does enable Poly to have an overview of the current software used. In addition, providing all details at the same time allow us to check logs or look up potential support partners if an issue needs to come into support. It also enables us to verify the entitlement for using features.

Your case would be a feature request so please work with your Poly reseller on this.

Please ensure to provide some feedback if this reply has helped you so other users can profit from your experience.

Best Regards

Re: Pano HDMI connection after "End Session"

My question is nothing releated to any video conference, skype, zoome, codec....

It is a simple question about Polycom Pano and even not using Wireless

It is as  simple as PC using HDMI to connect to PolyU Pano's HDMI IN and Pano's HDMI Out is connected to a HDMI enabled TV.

The Polycom Pano is using latest firmware and at this time of my post it is 1.2.2 (we had same problem with 1.2.1 as well).

My problem is also very straight forward and repeatable by anyone has Pano.

When you connect your PC to Pano and to TV, everything was fine.

Then, you can try to press this "x" located at the lower left of Pano menu, and it will show end sessions in 15 seconds, after that, your PC's screen is no longer to be shown on TV.

The way to show your PC's screen can only using following methods

1. restart your PC

2. unplug the HDMI IN cable of Pano and plug in again

3. Using win-P, select PC screen only, then Win-P select Extend / Duplicate screen

Obviousely, all these methods will cause problem to normal users as all they can see is a black screen on TV with Pano's menu.

My request is can Pano add a button for user to "reconnect HDMI", to avoid above steps....

or the "end session" does NOT kill the HDMI In session
