Poly Savi headset...press 2 buttons?

Hi, I just bought a new SAVI 7310 dect wireless headset. It is connected to a Poly VVX250 desk phone. 


In order for my to use the headset, I have to press the "headset" buttons on BOTH the desk phone AND the base of the SAVI. Is this normal operation? My users won't be able to remember to press both buttons....Is there a workaround so that I can use headset by just pressing 1 button? Thank you.
