Community User Guidelines and Terms of Use

Welcome to the Polycom Support Community Site!

This is a public site for everyone to use. While we want to make the site a fun experience for our users, we'd like to also ask that you help us keep it professional and relevant. We have created these guidelines to ensure that all Polycom Support Community users have a positive and constructive experience.

To optimize the Community user experiences, we have set-up the following seven ground rules for participating in the Polycom Support Community:

  1. Help out …

Make the community a richer place by sharing your experience and insight. You may have the perfect answer to someone else’s burning question. This is the essence of our community: learning from, and helping others.

  1. Stay constructive ….

Making professional criticisms will foster a healthier conversation and debate without ever attacking people personally. Be empathetic and think twice before hitting the "submit" button. Listen to and respect other members’ opinions. You may not agree with everything and that’s totally fine! Just make sure you keep the conversation relevant to the topic and don’t disrespect members or make personal attacks/judgement on others. We won’t tolerate threatening, harassing, or bullying of other users (including use of profane language).

  1. Build your reputation …

Build your reputation on the forum by interacting with others, and posting about the things you're passionate. Be yourself and let your personality shine through.

  1. Be yourself …

Make yourself worthy of trust and don’t misrepresent yourself or lie about your identity, affiliations, or age. Don't register accounts or post content automatically, systematically, or programmatically. This community is based on the contributions of real people who put their reputations on the line. Be one of them!

  1. Respect and protect privacy - yours and others…

Don't share anything about yourself or others that you would not want to see on a road-side billboard and don't post personally identifying or sensitive information like phone numbers, email addresses, passwords, credit card numbers, social security numbers, unlisted contact information or any other information that isn't publicly accessible. Also, don't use our Forum to deceive others into giving you their personal information.

  1. Don’t spam …

We encourage ongoing participation but once you've created a thread about a specific issue, don’t create multiple ones on the same subject. Any promotional, commercial, or adult content, multiple instances of the same post, posts with URLs unrelated to the question, and the transmission of malware, viruses, or anything that may disrupt service or harm others are strictly forbidden.

  1. Be respectful and kind ….

Do your part to ensure everyone has a positive experience when participating on the Community. Always be mindful of your posts and activity when participating. Specifically, please refrain from posting anything unlawful, libelous, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, indecent, lewd, harassing, threatening, harmful, invasive of privacy or publicity rights, abusive, inflammatory or otherwise objectionable or injurious to third parties.

In summary, please...

  • be respectful and courteous of others,
  • be relevant to the topic when posting,
  • protect the privacy of yourself and others, and
  • apply good judgment to the use of user-generated content.

We prohibit...

  • soliciting, harassing or threatening other users,
  • using profanity, obscenity, or other offensive language,
  • violating the law or encouraging others to do so, and
  • hacking or interfering with community operations

For more details, please download and read the two attachments (Community User Guidelines and Community Terms of Use) in this post.

Thanks for following these guidelines and for helping us make the Polycom Support Community a great place for all its users. As with any community, it’s up to each of us to create and participate in open conversations that can bring us together. Our hope is that by sharing our passions, opinions, and knowledge, we can grow our community together, to make it wiser and more passionate.

Thank you and happy posting,

Your Polycom Support Community Team
