When I schedule a conference using PCO, it does not create a conference ID until the first participant joins. This is a problem for us and I'll explain why.

For audio participants (those dialling in from external numbers such as cell phones and land lines), we've created a Phone number for them to call and an Entry Queue for calls to come in via. When we have the Ad-Hoc option turned on within the Entry Queue, on occasions callers enter the wrong Conference ID and it starts a conference with just them in it. Other people dial in and enter the correct conference id and participate in the conference, but the person who entered the wrong conference ID misses out.

To prevent this, we have turned the Ad-Hoc option off on the Entry Queue. Now when callers enter the wrong conference id they will hear a message saying that their conference id is incorrect and to try again.

The problem with this is that when it's an all audio conference, everyone gets this wrong conference id message as the conference id was never created by PCO. Someone needs to connect to the conference id using a HDX endpoint or it needs to be created manually on the RMX for it to work. This sux.

Does anyone know a way to get RMX to work properly for audio only participants with scheduling via PCO?

Can Polycom integrate their products correctly so that when you create a conference via PCO, it creates the conference id in RMX and adds it to the calendar on the RMX? This is how it should work but it seems to just operate as a stand alone number generator.

Robert,

PCO does essentially generate those conference IDs randomly, it was designed with the DMA in mind for the most part, so the way that the engineers intended for this scenario to play out would be to use a shared number dialing VEQ on the DMA, which would route participants to bridges using the VMR number generated by PCO.

We don't have a DMA. Only and RMX and a CMA.

So basically we need to leave the Ad-Hoc option turned on and have it open to anyone to enter any conference ID they like. Not very secure is it.
