Re: RMX 2000 no resope after changing prefix in gatekeeper (CMA 4000 V5.5)

Drifter,

There are chips inside each of the cards in an RMX (MPM, RTM IP, Controller) that contain the hardware information like the serial numbers, MAC addresses and the license key. The MPL failure message is caused by the chip in the control card not being able to communicate with the chip in the RTM IP card.

The cards in the RMX communicate internally via IP communication. Anytime you are changing something in the IP stack, the stack itself has to be rebooted. Occasionally, when the stack comes back up, there will be some issues communicating between the RTM IP card and the Control card via the internal VLAN.

It is uncommon, but it is not indicative of any hardware defects in your RMX, it is simply a consequence of the product's complexity and modularity.

Hope this helps.
